Welcome, everyone, to our family website! As the caption mentions, we thought this would be easier than sending a holiday card. And in truth - it required a lot more hours of (Steve’s) work than a holiday card would have taken, but I’m pretty sure that this will work out better in the long run.
We wanted a place that wasn’t a social media platform to share news and updates with our friends and family; a simple site for us to show you what we’ve been up to and, as our family is expanding, to show you baby girl. (Side note: we’d really appreciate it if you did not share the link to our site on any social media.) The intent is not for us to post every week or provide content on any sort of regular cadence, really. I’d say it’s a way for us to capture key moments throughout the year, invite you to learn about our newest hobbies and interests, and hopefully give you a glimpse into our lives.
As cliche as it is, life happens, and it gets really hard to catch up with people. Add that on top of the pandemic, the fact that we’re the dictionary-definition of “introverts,” and about to be new parents, and what do you get? Recluses. The thing is, we miss you all and wish we could spend time with you. We want to know about what’s going on with you as much as we want you to know what’s going on with us. So even though this is a bit one-sided, we thought we’d start here as we learn to navigate life as a family of three (five if you count the cats). And as time goes on, we hope to be able to connect with you all in a much more real/in-person sense.
We’re quite grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for caring to see what’s going on with us. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We love you. Talk soon.
